Pre-Tax Commute Plan

Pay for your parking or mass transit with pre-tax dollars!

The Pre-Tax Commute Plan (Section 132) can be used by all active employees to pay for parking at or near the workplace and mass transit expenses (i.e., TheBus or HandiVan) incurred going to and from work.

Mass Transit

If you use the bus to commute to and from work, you can enroll in the program to purchase a bus pass. Reimbursement is limited to the cost of one bus pass (not to exceed a maximum of $315/month).

Parking

If you pay for qualified parking at or near your workplace or at a facility from which you commute via transit, you may enroll in the program. Reimbursement cannot exceed $315/month.

You can use both the parking and the mass transit benefits, but keep in mind that they are separate accounts. Unused funds from one cannot be transferred to the other.

You are not required to work any minimum number of hours to qualify for this benefit, but must earn enough each month to cover the amount of the deduction. Because this plan is month-to-month, you can enroll and cancel plan participation at any time. Re-enrollment happens annually to allow you to review your use of the benefit and change your election amounts at least once a year.

How to Enroll
